You can find many LCD that you can use for your project. They are cheap. The best way is to drive then using a I2C GPIO expander (see link in reference). In the demo APP we have implemented a Liquid Cristal Driver (VAR LCD16XX) that support LCD clone of the Hitachi HD44780.
